The JTMO works closely with vRide, which operates commuter transportation and mobility management programs from over 40 Customer Service and/or Commuter Centers serving 50 major urban areas in the U.S. and abroad! In just over 30 years vRide has become the world's largest private provider of commuter vanpool transportation services. vRide employs over 130 people; maintains a fleet of over 5,000 vans in top condition; and accommodates over 25 million passenger-trips annually in vRide-operated vehicles.

Good news from the “Fiscal Cliff”:
Transportation Benefit Increases to $245 for 2013

Tax Benefit TransportationThe tax-free commuter transportation fringe benefit has been increased from $125/mo to $245/mo for qualified transit and vanpool fares for 2013! As a result of the efforts of commuter services advocates, Congress included the benefit increase in the “fiscal cliff” bill that became law on January 1. Bicycle commuters will continue to be eligible for up $20/mo for pre-tax qualified expenses related to bike commuting. MassDOT Unveils New Financing Proposal – “The Way Forward: A 21st Century Transportation Plan”

The MBTA Now Offers Mobile Phone Ticketing

MBTA mTicketWith a new MBTA mTicket application, customers can purchase tickets in seconds via their smartphone. Once tickets are purchased, they will be stored digitally in their application’s ‘ticket wallet’ on the phone. With this new application, customers don’t have to worry about losing their ticket.
